Renewable Energy Market Information

U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) stated in their 2010 report, that net world electricity generation will increase from 18.8 trillion kilowatt hours (KWH) in 2007 to 25 trillion KWH in 2020 and 35.2 KWH in 2035.

Bloomberg reports that China has set a goal to generate 15 percent of its energy requirement from renewable energy sources by2020, and 40 percent by 2050.

Global photovoltaic installations were 7.5 gigawatt (GW) in 2009. Solarbuzz forecasts they will reach 15.2GW in 2010.

Worldwide solar photovoltaic market forecast to reach $100 billion by 2014. (Soalrbuzz)

isuppli forecasts thin-film technology´s market share will double to 31% of global solar panel market in terms of watts by 2013.

U.S. photovoltaic market grew by 36% in 2009. Solarbuzz forecasts that it will grow tenfold by 2014, led by California demand.

World Nuclear Association estimates that currently some two billion people have no access to electricity. It estimates that electricity demand is increasing twice as fast as overall energy use and is likely to rise 76% from 2007 to 2030.
